The St. Lunatics was a hip hop group. It was formed in 1993 in St. Louis. The group members were hometown buddies and rappers Nelly (born Cornell Haynes Jr.), Ali (born Ali Jones), Murphy Lee (born Tohri Harper), Kyjuan (born Robert Kyjuan Cleveland), and City Spud (born Lavell Webb).[1][2]

They came out with their local hit "Gimme What U Got" in 1997. Next, they were signed to Universal Records. Then, they appeared on Nelly's solo album Country Grammar. While Nelly was working on Country Grammar, City Spud was arrested in 1999 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison for robbery. The group released their first album Free City in 2001. It included hits such as "Summer In The City" and "Midwest Swing". Then, Ali released his solo album Heavy Starch in 2002 and Murphy Lee released his solo album Murphy's Law in 2003.
